well as plates, cups, table covers and skirts
makes the occasion even more spectacular. It
makes celebrating your 1st or your 50th a golden
reality. Find the colors to match the years and
add crepe and
metallic
streamers, garlands, confetti, balloons,
prizes and more.
Laughter
We believe
in laughter, it's what makes life worth living.
The following Anniversary party ideas are full
of the fun and silliness that make us laugh, we
hope you will too.
Pictures
First of
all , don't forget pictures. If you don't have a
video camera, rent one. Record a message to the
Anniversary couple from each guest. Make sure
you assign one person to take still pictures
during the party. Purchase several disposable
cameras for all the guest to use for some
fabulous candid shots. Give the developed
pictures to the Anniversary couple.
Anniversary Theme
Throw a
costume party! Have everyone come dressed as
someone living in the decade that the
Anniversary couple was married in. Add another
twist and make it only movie stars from that
decade. Have only music from those years.
Decorate with signs of the times. Posters,
cardboard cut outs, life size cutouts of famous
people, and plenty of balloons, and crepe paper,
garlands, and confetti. Invite all the guest to
come dress as if they were in a wedding party.
Ask the women (or the men) to wear old brides
dresses. We all have one stuck in the very, very
back of our closets even though we knew we would
never, ever wear it again. Well here's the
chance. Don't forget those "dyed to match
shoes". Purchase a Bachelorette Veil for the
"bride" and reenact the wedding vows.
Anniversary Memories
Anniversaries are not only about celebrating the
years spent together as a couple, but also the
family and friends that contribute to those
memories. Not many of us seem to have the time
nor the energy to put together those albums of
pictures and mementos that highlight those
special times and friends in our lives, but
here's a way to let everyone participate. Buy a
scrap book with blank pages, make sure that the
pages are removable and that you can buy
replacement pages. Send a page to each guest and
ask them to construct a page for the anniversary
couple. Suggest that they use photos taken with
the couple or just of themselves. Ask them to
include any mementos of special times spent with
the guests of honor, such as theater tickets,
cards, postcard, etc. Ask that they write a few
fond memories of the couple. You will be
surprised at how much fun this is for everyone
involved and how delighted the couple will be.
Before presenting the gift, make a cover page
with a wedding picture of the couple along with
the wedding invitation if you can get you hands
on one without giving away the surprise. Be sure
to include lots of blank pages for them to
continue the album if they wish, maybe with some
pictures of the anniversary party they will
never forget.
Special
Touches
Once the
guests have returned the album pages, choose one
photo from each guest and have it photocopied.
Purchase a package of 10 1/4" plastic plates in
a color that matches your themed plates, (gold
for 50th etc.) and a package of Clear 10 1/4"
plates. Place the photocopy in the center of the
colored plastic plate and cover with the clear
plastic plate. Serve nuts, mints, etc. on these
plates. When the food is gone, the memories are
still there.
Refreshments
Refreshments are easy for this wonderful event.
A wedding cake, mints and nuts is all you need
to reenact the wedding reception. Don't forget
the Anniversary Champagne.
